FUTATABI FUTABA FUKUSHIMA to Open in June 2026 in Futaba Town, Fukushima—A Retreat-Style Hotel with One of the Region’s Largest Conference Rooms

Daiwa Lifenext Co., Ltd. will open a retreat-style hotel, FUTATABI FUTABA FUKUSHIMA, in Futaba Town, Fukushima Prefecture, on June 1, 2026. Located within the Nakano District Reconstruction and Industrial Hub—an area progressing in its recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake—the facility combines one of the largest conference rooms in the region with a retreat environment designed to support physical and mental well-being. General reservations began on December 16, 2025, positioning the hotel as a potential new MICE hub that balances business needs with well-being.

A Retreat Experience Inspired by the Meaning of “FUTATABI”

The hotel is located adjacent to the Great East Japan Earthquake and Nuclear Disaster Memorial Museum and the Fukushima Prefectural Reconstruction Memorial Park, which is scheduled for future development. The name “FUTATABI,” meaning “once again,” reflects three intentions: the regeneration of Futaba’s natural environment and industries, renewed connections with the town and its people, and the hope that guests will return to visit again.

Designed as a retreat-style hotel, the property aims to offer quiet moments for reflection away from the distractions of everyday life. At the same time, it is positioned to serve as a base for regional revitalization and exchange, supporting both recovery efforts and meaningful interaction within the community.

Large-Scale Conference Facilities Designed for MICE Use

While positioned as a retreat facility focused on relaxation, FUTATABI FUTABA FUKUSHIMA also offers the full functionality of a conference hotel suitable for professional use.

A Versatile Banquet Space with One of the Largest Capacities in the Region
The hotel features a banquet and conference room of approximately 430 square meters, described as one of the largest in the region. The space can be divided into four separate rooms, allowing for flexible use depending on the purpose, including corporate meetings, training sessions, and banquets. Unlike typical resort hotels, the facility is equipped with amenities designed specifically for business use, enabling it to accommodate MICE demand such as off-site meetings and corporate training trips. Guests can combine focused meetings with opportunities to refresh in the surrounding natural environment or spa facilities, creating a well-balanced stay.

Spa and Library Facilities That Enhance the Quality of Stay

In addition to its conference capabilities, the hotel is equipped with facilities designed to support participants’ physical and mental recovery.

A Spa and Sauna with Views of the Sky and Sea

On the top floor, the hotel offers a guest-only spa area known as “Slow SPA.” The spa features a Finnish-style sauna with an automatic löyly system supervised by TTNE, as well as an outdoor lake-style bath that creates an open connection to the sky. As the facilities are available to all guests regardless of gender, with swimwear required, the space can also be used as an opportunity for communication among team members as part of team-building activities.

A Library That Stimulates Intellectual Curiosity

In a separate building on the property, the hotel houses a library featuring approximately 1,500 volumes, curated by book director Atsutaka Haba. Designed as a café-style space overlooking a water feature, the library offers an environment where guests can immerse themselves in reading, while also serving as a setting for developing new ideas.

Dining Focused on Local Production for Local Consumption

Dining is offered at a restaurant with seating for up to 130 guests, serving menus that highlight ingredients sourced from Fukushima Prefecture. Guided by the concept of “bringing that flavor back once again,” the locally focused cuisine is intended to enhance overall satisfaction during guests’ stay.

A New Hub Where Business and Well-Being Converge in Futaba Town, Fukushima

FUTATABI FUTABA FUKUSHIMA is a distinctive facility that combines one of the region’s largest conference functions with a full-scale retreat experience. Located in Futaba Town, Fukushima Prefecture—an area recognized as symbolic of recovery—the hotel is positioned as a new option for companies and organizations seeking to balance business outcomes with individual well-being. The location offers convenient access, at just over three hours from Tokyo by limited express train and slightly over one hour from Sendai, with the opening in June 2026 anticipated.
