[Japan Mobility Show 2025] Main Visual and Program Outline Announced / Competitive Program with Startups Also Planned — The Show Runs October 30–November 9 at Tokyo Big Sight

Evolving from the approximately 70-year history of the Tokyo Motor Show, the Japan Mobility Show (ジャパンモビリティショー2025) announced its main visual, program outline, and participating companies. This article presents those details and the call for participating companies for the startup-focused program.

Concept: “Let’s go explore an exciting future!” Also Expressed in the Main Visual

Japan Mobility Show 2025 adopts the concept “Let’s go explore an exciting future!” with a strong intention that everyone will feel excitement, think together, and co-create the future. Based on this concept, a wide range of programs has been prepared so that not only car and motorcycle enthusiasts but also families with children and businesspeople can experience an exciting future brought about by a rich and imaginative mobility society. At the venue, through the three pillars—#FUTURE (the future image of mobility), #CULTURE (mobility itself), and #CREATION (mobility business)—visitors will be offered exciting experiences that open up an as-yet-unseen future for Japan.

From the overview briefing materials

#FUTURE: Experience the Next Ten Years in “Tokyo Future Tour 2035”

The popular “Tokyo Future Tour” from the previous edition returns in an evolved second installment titled “Tokyo Future Tour 2035.” Focusing on a “near future” ten years ahead—neither too close nor too far—it is designed so visitors can experience forthcoming technological innovations and changes in everyday life. More than 100 companies and organizations from various industries will come together, and with the Tokyo of 2035 appearing within the venue, the program will inspire visitors deeply and spark their imagination for the future.

#CULTURE: The Full Scope of a Zone That Explores the Appeal of Mobility from Multiple Angles

The #CULTURE zone shines a light on diverse forms of mobility and their stories, centering on cars and motorcycles that have long been rooted in people’s lives and have brought excitement. The culture exhibition, which presents vehicles that have shone alongside the times—from the past to the present together with the culture and social climate of each era—offers a heart-pounding experience: nostalgia for those who lived through it and curiosity for those encountering it for the first time.

In the outdoor area, visitors can feel the performance differences of next-generation fuels through show runs, as well as take in powerful demo runs and ride-along experiences featuring racing cars, historic cars, and SUVs. In addition to exhibits of rare supercars, custom cars, and camper vans/RVs, a community zone for mobility enthusiasts will foster interaction among visitors.

#CREATION: Business Competition with Startups Will Generate New Excitement

To expand the mobility industry, an event will be held to promote co-creation between startups and established companies. In booth exhibits featuring many startups, cross-industry collaboration will be strongly supported. A Pitch Contest & Awards with two divisions based on business stage will also take place, providing benefits tailored to each company’s needs.

Furthermore, on the talk stage “Future Mobility Forum,” in addition to a special session by the chair and vice chair of the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA), numerous sessions packed with business insights and talks enjoyable for general visitors are planned.

Family-friendly programs in collaboration with KidZania; food areas filled with food trucks

The program also considers families. In the collaboration content with the job- and society-experience facility KidZania, “Out of KidZania in Japan Mobility Show,” children of elementary school age and younger can experience a variety of jobs related to the mobility industry. A popular Tomica booth and a kei-truck market offering local specialties from across Japan will also be featured, delivering attractions that people of all ages can enjoy. Food areas set up throughout the venue will bring together a wide variety of food trucks, providing rest spots and culinary enjoyment so visitors can comfortably circulate through the entire event.

Strategic Programs to Realize “Business Co-creation”

One of the biggest reasons why Japan Mobility Show 2025 has evolved into a “co-creation platform–type event” is its strong commitment to expanding the mobility industry and creating new business opportunities. In particular, its role as a venue for “business co-creation” in which startups, established companies, and visitors come together to build the future has been strengthened, highlighting the event’s strategic nature as a MICE platform.

“Startup Future Factory”: Over 260 Participating Companies to Date

“Startup Future Factory,” which carries the future of the mobility industry, has been held continuously since 2023 as a place where startups, established companies, and visitors can meet, co-create business from new perspectives, and promote the development of the mobility sector. To date, a cumulative total of over 260 companies have exhibited, and more than 1,200 business matches have been achieved—results that demonstrate both its effectiveness and the high demand for co-creation.

In Japan Mobility Show 2025, the following programs will be implemented as the main components of “Startup Future Factory.”

Booth Exhibits: A Total of 150 Companies Across Four Themes

The exhibition period will be divided into three segments, with 50 companies in each, for a total of 150 companies. Exhibitors are being recruited under four themes: “Make travel/movement smoother and more exciting,” “Rethink how things are made with the planet in mind,” “Update the systems that support living and working,” and “Even that? The expanding scope of mobility.” This framework invites innovation from a wide range of fields and creates opportunities for business co-creation from multiple perspectives.

Pitch Contest & Awards: Two Divisions; Total Prize Money of JPY 12,000,000 for the Seed/Early Division

The contest will be held in two divisions according to growth stage: Seed/Early and Middle/Later. In the Seed/Early division, a total of JPY 12,000,000 in prize money will be offered, with concrete benefits tailored to each stage to strongly support startup growth.

Promoting Matching with the Online Communication Tool “Meet-up Box”

Introduced at JAPAN MOBILITY SHOW BIZWEEK 2024, this tool supports smoother and more concrete business co-creation by allowing companies to share seeds and needs in advance. In addition to on-site appointment booking, a function to share successful business-matching cases has been added, enabling further utilization. With approximately 2,000 registrations already, the platform creates opportunities to meet new partners.

Applications for booth participation in “Startup Future Factory” and for the Pitch Contest & Awards opened on April 10, and an online briefing session is scheduled for April 23. For MICE professionals seeking to create new business models and partnerships, this is an opportunity not to be missed.
