About MICE TIMES ONLINE
“MICE TIMES ONLINE” is a web media platform that delivers information related to the MICE industry in Japan and overseas in multiple languages. Since its launch in July 2024, the platform has published content in three languages—Japanese, English, and Korean. By featuring initiatives from MICE-related facilities, local governments, and companies, it aims to serve as a platform connecting MICE information across the Asia-Pacific region.

Distributed nationwide, primarily through universities and career centers

Students do not research all industries equally. Their career interests tend to take shape based on the industries they encounter first and the roles they are able to understand.
“MICE ZINE” has an initial print run of 2,000 copies. It will be placed at university career centers, tourism-related departments, and vocational schools, and distributed free of charge to students. The publication introduces the MICE and event industry, domestic and international trade shows and conventions, as well as career paths within the sector in an accessible manner. It is designed to provide students who are considering their future careers with an overview of the MICE field.
The publication includes multiple QR codes that link to articles on “MICE TIMES ONLINE.” Readers who wish to explore further can use the platform to gain a deeper understanding of the MICE industry. By creating opportunities for students to encounter MICE, the initiative aims to encourage interest in the field.
The A5-size format is designed to fit easily into a student’s bag without adding bulk. The cover design avoids overt references to “career” or “job hunting,” allowing it to be picked up more casually.

Contents of the inaugural issue of “MICE ZINE”
The publication is produced in A5 format and consists of 18 pages.

What is a “ZINE”?
A zine is a small-format publication created independently by individuals or small teams. The term originates from “magazine,” but unlike commercial publishing, it emerged from a culture of producing and sharing ideas and expressions through one’s own initiative.
Zines are characterized by their flexibility in both theme and design. They often compile the creator’s interests and messages in formats such as art, photography, travel writing, essays, and interviews, presented in a compact booklet.
In recent years, there has been a growing number of cases where companies and media organizations publish zines as a means of conveying their brand identity through print. “MICE ZINE” by MICE TIMES ONLINE follows this trend, serving as a tangible medium that delivers practical information and real voices from the industry to younger generations interested in pursuing a career in MICE.

Future plans for MICE ZINE
In early summer 2026, a print run of 5,000 copies is planned, with distribution and placement at more than 100 universities and educational institutions nationwide.
The publication is scheduled to continue on a regular basis. Through featured themes, interviews, and on-site reports, it aims to continuously communicate the appeal of the MICE industry to students and young professionals. By linking with the online platform “MICE Career Navi,” the initiative will develop into a new information platform that integrates industry insights, job opportunities, and talent development.
The next issue is scheduled for release in early summer 2026. In addition to enhancing the content, efforts will be made to expand distribution locations in order to reach a wider student audience. Companies, organizations, and venues interested in being featured are invited to apply on an ongoing basis.
