Tokyo DisneySea 25th Anniversary “Magical Jubilee Shinkansen” to Begin Service on June 10, 2026 — Special Celebration-Themed Journeys Between Tokyo and Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Tokyo DisneySea, East Japan Railway Company (JR East) and Oriental Land Co., Ltd. have jointly planned a special train service, the “Magical Jubilee Shinkansen,” which will begin limited-time operations on June 10, 2026.
Inspired by the anniversary event “Tokyo DisneySea 25th: Sparkling Jubilee,” the specially decorated Shinkansen will operate between Tokyo Station and Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station, offering passengers a journey filled with a festive anniversary atmosphere.
What Makes the Magical Jubilee Shinkansen’s Interior Special?
The First Seat Area Decorations Ever Introduced on a JR East Shinkansen
One of the greatest highlights of this special train is its carefully designed interior, allowing passengers to immerse themselves in the world of Tokyo DisneySea from the moment they board. In a first for a JR East Shinkansen, special decorative covers have been added to the headrest sections of the seats. Both standard-class and Green Car seats feature unique designs created to provide a comfortable experience even during longer journeys.
Matching decorative elements can also be found on the seat curtains and interior wall stickers throughout the train, creating a festive anniversary atmosphere no matter where passengers are seated. In addition to the visual presentation, the onboard melodies have also been specially changed, with detailed audio elements designed to evoke the atmosphere of the “Sparkling Jubilee” celebration.
Jubilee Blue Design Inspired by the Beauty of the Sea
The overall train design is centered around the vivid “Jubilee Blue,” the symbolic color theme created for the 25th anniversary and inspired by the many expressions of the sea. Mickey Mouse and other Disney characters appear throughout the design wearing special anniversary costumes, adding excitement and celebration to the beginning of each journey.
Alongside the character artwork, iconic Tokyo DisneySea motifs have also been incorporated into the design, including the DisneySea AquaSphere and Mount Prometheus, both widely recognized symbols of the park. Together, these elements create a train design that fully expresses the festive atmosphere of Tokyo DisneySea’s 25th anniversary celebration.
Operation Routes and Special Service Schedule
A Long-Distance Route Connecting Tohoku and Hokkaido
The Magical Jubilee Shinkansen will operate using a single 10-car E5 Series train set, one of JR East’s flagship Shinkansen models. The service will run along the Tohoku and Hokkaido Shinkansen lines between Tokyo Station and Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station, operating under train services such as Hayabusa, Hayate, Yamabiko, and Nasuno, serving a wide range of passengers from commuters to leisure travelers.
Operations are scheduled to begin on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 and continue for approximately nine months through early March 2027. On the first day of service, the train is scheduled to operate as Hayabusa No. 2, departing Sendai Station at 6:35 AM and arriving at Tokyo Station at 8:07 AM.
Special Operations on the 25th of Every Month
To commemorate the 25th anniversary of Tokyo DisneySea, special operations are planned on the 25th of each month using designated train services announced in advance through the official website.
For June, the first month of operation, the designated service will be Yamabiko No. 124 on Thursday, June 25, departing Sendai Station at 7:46 AM and arriving at Tokyo Station at 9:35 AM. As operational schedules may change depending on train operations and circumstances, passengers wishing to ride the special train are encouraged to check the official website in advance when planning their trip.
In conjunction with the launch of the train service, limited-time photo spots celebrating Tokyo DisneySea 25th: Sparkling Jubilee will also appear at selected stations within the operating area. These installations will allow passengers to enjoy the anniversary atmosphere even while waiting for their train inside the station.

Tokyo DisneySea’s 25th Anniversary and a New Travel Experience
Tokyo DisneySea will celebrate its 25th anniversary on September 4, 2026. Ahead of this milestone, the large-scale anniversary event “Tokyo DisneySea 25th: Sparkling Jubilee” is being held from April 15, 2026 through March 31, 2027. Throughout the park, decorated in the anniversary theme color “Jubilee Blue,” visitors are immersed in a festive atmosphere designed to create sparkling and memorable experiences.
The newly launched Magical Jubilee Shinkansen transforms travel time into part of the entertainment experience itself. For guests visiting from distant regions, commemorative photo spots at stations and the vividly decorated train interiors help create a seamless connection between the point of departure and the world of Tokyo DisneySea, offering a unique and memorable travel experience before guests even arrive at the park.
