Japan Government Garden: A 2.5-Hectare Exhibition, the Largest at the Expo, Featuring the “Reiwa Japanese Garden” for Experiencing Dialogue with Nature

Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism will jointly present the Japan Government Garden.
Covering 2.5 hectares, it will be the largest exhibition area at the expo. Taking into account its location at the headwaters of the Izumi River, the garden and exhibition facilities will be designed with consideration for reducing environmental impact.
At the center of the exhibit will be the “Reiwa Japanese Garden,” which incorporates the concept of green infrastructure, including water circulation and the restoration of local vegetation, while drawing on the traditions and techniques of Japanese garden culture.

The exhibition hall will introduce the natural environments of different regions of Japan through an immersive theater experience. It will also display knowledge and techniques that have been developed through people’s relationship with nature, as well as ikebana arrangements and bonsai from the collection of the Imperial Household Agency.
The exhibition is also expected to feature historically significant bonsai, including “Kashima,” a 390-year-old Japanese black pine that was exhibited at Expo ’70 in Osaka.

The “Village Exhibitions” at GREEN×EXPO 2027 are co-creation projects that combine a variety of exhibits and experiential programs. The expo site will feature five Villages, each with a different theme.

Sotetsu Group will present SOTETSU PARK in the Kids Village. The concept of the exhibit is “Friends and Habitats.”
Drawing on the harmonious relationship between people and nature that has developed along the Sotetsu railway line, the exhibit aims to help children discover the wildlife living around them and deepen their interest in and appreciation for nature through play equipment and inquiry-based content.
The dedicated website introduces species that reflect the natural environment along the railway corridor, including the Japanese common toad (Azuma-hikigaeru), common kingfisher, Japanese mitten crab, Japanese hare, northern goshawk, and pale grass blue butterfly.
Ahead of the expo, Sotetsu Group is also organizing educational programs under the banner of “Sotetsu Line Learning Club with EXPO.” Activities include aquatic wildlife observation programs and evening firefly watching events.

Tokyu Group: Proposing a “GREEN LIFESTYLE 2050” at the Tokyu Group Pavilion
Tokyu Group will present the Tokyu Group Pavilion in the Urban GX Village at GREEN×EXPO 2027.
The exhibition theme is “GREEN LIFESTYLE 2050: Growing from Seeds, Connecting the Future.” Through the pavilion, Tokyu Group will present a new lifestyle model that integrates nature and urban living.
The group, which operates businesses in transportation, real estate, lifestyle services, hotels, and resorts, will showcase its vision for a future in which cities and nature coexist and support one another.

The pavilion name uses the hiragana spelling “とうきゅう” (Tokyu) to express the unity and comprehensive strengths of the Tokyu Group while creating a sense of familiarity for visitors of all generations.

TOHO LEO Corporation Holds Kickoff Event for “Yasashiku Naritai. STUDIO”
TOHO LEO Corporation held a kickoff event at Kudan House on May 27, 2026, to mark the launch of its GREEN×EXPO 2027 Village exhibit, “Yasashiku Naritai. STUDIO” (“I Want to Be Kinder. STUDIO”).
The project carries forward the concept of the Panasonic Group Pavilion, “The Land of NOMO,” from Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, while reusing the pavilion’s iconic façade designed by architect Yuko Nagayama. It is positioned as an initiative that promotes the circulation and reuse of architecture from one exposition to the next.
The event featured speakers including Kundo Koyama, Yuko Nagayama, Keiko Kimura, and Yutaka Mita of TOHO LEO Corporation.
The program included a hop seedling planting ceremony, a special talk session on the theme of “The Future of Architecture and Community,” and a networking reception. Through these activities, the project presented its vision for new experiences centered on the concept of the “8-Year-Old Adult.”

NTT East will present the NTT EAST Pavilion in the Urban GX Village at GREEN×EXPO 2027.
The pavilion is based on the concept of “Well.” Drawing on the company’s vision of co-creating a regional circular society, the exhibit will present an experiential vision of a well-being society in which industry, nature, and culture exist in harmony and happiness circulates throughout communities.

Mitsubishi Group: Mitsubishi Minna no Miraikan Promotes the Theme “Connecting Together for a Prosperous Earth”
Mitsubishi Group will present the Mitsubishi Minna no Miraikan pavilion at GREEN×EXPO 2027.
The pavilion name builds on the legacy of the Mitsubishi Future Pavilion, which has continued through successive expositions since Expo ’70 in Osaka, while incorporating the idea of “creating a happy tomorrow together.”
The exhibition theme is “Connecting Together for a Prosperous Earth.” Through the exhibit, Mitsubishi Group aims to provide visitors with an opportunity to reflect on the importance of working together to address the challenges of future urbanization and coexistence with nature.
The building is designed to represent a large collective form created from many small pieces, symbolizing the contribution of individuals to a shared future. Architectural design is being led by a project team from Mitsubishi Jisho Design Inc.
To help reduce environmental impact, the pavilion is planned to utilize a GX House provided by the expo association.

KT Group: Mobi+ Pavilion Showcases “Scenery of Tomorrow Created Through Mobility”
KT Group will present an exhibit in the Urban GX Village area of GREEN×EXPO 2027. The name of its pavilion is Mobi+.KT Group traces its origins to Kanagawa Toyota Sales, established in 1939. Through mobility services, the group has supported local communities by connecting people and transporting goods throughout the region.
For GREEN×EXPO 2027, KT Group will showcase its concept of Mobility Life Design. Building on the transporting power of automobiles, the exhibit will present a vision of a new society in which resources circulate more sustainably and efficiently.

The pavilion name “Mobi+” reflects the idea of adding new possibilities to mobility, connecting people, resources, and everyday life to create new value.
In line with GREEN×EXPO 2027’s theme, “Scenery of the Future for Happiness,” the pavilion will feature exhibits that allow visitors to experience visions of future lifestyles shaped through mobility.

Sumitomo Forestry: “100 Forests” Explores the Potential of Forests Through 100 Perspectives
Sumitomo Forestry Co., Ltd. will present the Sumitomo Forestry Pavilion “100 Forests” in the Craft Village.
The pavilion concept is “100EYES, 100FORESTS.” Drawing on the company’s history of working with forests, trees, and plants since its founding in 1691, the exhibit will offer visitors opportunities to explore wood and forests from a wide range of perspectives.
Based on the idea that “the appearance of a forest changes depending on who is looking at it,” the pavilion will examine the life, knowledge, and possibilities hidden within forests through viewpoints including children, science, culture, economics, and urban development.
The pavilion will include a second-floor deck space overlooking surrounding vegetation and symbolic trees. Natural materials are planned for both the interior and exterior of the building.
The exhibit will also reflect the company’s wood cycle business model, which spans forest management, timber and building materials, wooden construction, real estate development, and woody biomass power generation, presenting a vision of the future shaped by forests and wood.

Kajima Corporation: “KAJIMA TREE,” a Timber Tower Carrying Forward the Legacy of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan
Kajima Corporation will present the timber tower “KAJIMA TREE” at GREEN×EXPO 2027. A central feature of the project is the reuse of timber from the Grand Ring of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan. Following the dismantling of the Grand Ring, the timber is being stored and managed in Tatebayashi City, Gunma Prefecture, and is scheduled to be reused as structural material for KAJIMA TREE.
By giving new life to timber that welcomed millions of visitors at Expo 2025 and bringing it to the Yokohama venue, the project aims to create a landmark that carries forward the legacy of the expo while demonstrating the principles of resource circulation.
The structure will incorporate Kajima’s timber seismic control technology, developed from the company’s expertise in vibration control engineering. Plans include the use of a Kumiki Seismic Control System, designed to absorb forces generated by wind and earthquakes.
Through KAJIMA TREE, Kajima aims to express its environmental vision of decarbonization, resource circulation, and nature restoration through timber architecture.

Daiwa House Group: “Future Living” Shaped by Wind, Sun, Water, and Greenery
Daiwa House Group will present the Daiwa House Group Endless Heart Park as a Village exhibit at GREEN×EXPO 2027. The concept of the exhibit is “Future Living Created by Wind, Sun, Water, and Greenery.” Inspired by founder Nobuo Ishibashi’s philosophy that “the 21st century will be the age of wind, sun, and water,” the exhibit will present a vision of future living in which people, communities, daily life, and greenery exist in harmony while benefiting from the gifts of nature.

Takenaka Group will present the exhibition facility “Kurukuru-ku” in the Craft Village area of GREEN×EXPO 2027.

Shimizu Corporation will present “Shimizu Forest Town” in the Kids Village at GREEN×EXPO 2027.
The concept of the exhibit is “Growing Tomorrow Together with the Earth.” Designed with children at its center, the exhibit will offer an opportunity to explore a forest environment while experiencing sunlight, water, the scent of soil, and the texture of greenery.
